Wade Henry Adams Obituary

WADE H. ADAMS - age 92, of Knoxville, passed away 12:10 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at Tennova Residential Hospice. He was a member and Deacon of Inskip Baptist Church, and a US Army veteran of World War II serving in Germany with the 86th Infantry Division. He was retired from Union Carbide in Oak Ridge, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He was preceded in death by his wife, Garnette Isbell Adams; parents, Luther and Ethel Adams; brother, Ray Adams, sister and brother-in-law, Blanche and Marion Morrow; brothers-in-law, Otto Derrick and Bobby Hopkins. Survivors: Sons, Kenneth Adams (Vickie) of Dandridge, and Randall Adams of Andersonville; sister, Deane Derrick; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alene and Jack Davis, Lennie and Lee Stansbury, Madge and Don Jackson; sister-in-law, Betty Adams. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Honor Air Knoxville, 7536 Taggart Lane, Knoxville, TN 37938. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway. The family and friends will meet 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Farner, Tennessee for a graveside service and interment at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Adams officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Military Honors will be performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
