Reva Blanche Tuberdyck Obituary

Reva Blanche (nee LaVack) Tuberdyck Passed away at home with family present on December 18, 2021 at the age of 112. The oldest of 10 children, Reva graduated from Oscoda HS and attended Michigan State Normal College for two years before her marriage to Charles Tuberdyck. They lived in Detroit, raising two children before Charles retired in 1968. They bought a retirement home in Oscoda, but ended up living in California for 30 years, returning to Oscoda every summer to be with family. In California, Reva was thankful to be near her daughter and husband and be part of her grandchildrens’ lives while they were growing up, as well as being near her brother, Lloyd (Jo) and children in California. She worked on the election board there and was proud of voting in every election from age 18 through 2020. After Charles died in 1996, Reva gradually started to spend more time in Oscoda, living and traveling with her son and daughter-in-law. In returning to Michigan, she was thankful to be near her brother Gene and sister Sandy, as well as nieces and nephews. Reva always considered Oscoda home with the “most beautiful beach” in Michigan. She worked at what is now Gilbert Drugs through HS and some after until her marriage. Reva was always ready for a new adventure, walking the Mackinaw Bridge at ages 89 and 90, underground (1 mile), at Carlsbad Caverns at age 100, and walked in snowshoes for the first time at age 101. Her last yearly “cross country road trip” was at age 105. Reva had a positive, caring outlook on life. Her 112th birthday wish was for everyone to be happy. Reva is survived by her children, Marilyn (Xeno) Litras, Banning, CA, Charles (Nancy) Tuberdyck, Oscoda, MI; brother, Gene (Doris) LaVack, Oscoda, MI; grandchildren, Karen (Kevin) Rowley, Kevin (Kathleen) Bishop, Kirsten (Rich) Talbert, and Marika (Carla) Litras; great grandchildren, A.J. Neilson and Kendall Bishop; and several nieces and nephews. Reva was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, parents Oliver and June, and five brothers and three sisters. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A family Memorial gathering will be held at a later date. People wishing to make a donation in Reva’s name can consider: Compassus Hospice, 3217 E.
