Jason Maynard, 54, passed away on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence after an almost 3 year battle with cancer.

Born in Warwick he was the son of the late Gilmore William and Gisela Margaret ( Hartmann ) Maynard.

Jason leaves behind his sister Heidi, niece Monica, best friends – his “brothers” Juan and Charlie, aunts (Chy, Angie, Vondell), uncles(Dennis, Alan, Stephen), cousins, and many friends.

Though his passing was quick, and the years-long battle far from painless, Jason grinned and bared through it all.

Jason was a passionate man who would talk your ear off on his focus of the week, be it sports (soccer - Formula1 - NASCAR - football), movies, comics, video games, history, or cars. Anything was fair game whether you knew about the topic or not. He was an avid collector and model maker, who excelled in bringing out the fine details of his models and proudly displayed his collection at home.

Jason liked routine and before heading to work at Rhode Island Hospital, where he worked in Central Transport for over 30 years, he could be found in one of his many haunts, where he was likely to befriend everyone who worked there. And as he was an extremely loyal friend, once he chose you, you were stuck with him like glue. Although his dream of seeing a Formula1 race in person never materialized, Jason enjoyed many NASCAR weekends with his friends and generally lived life vibrantly and without regrets.

Family and friends may call Tuesday December 28, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 AM in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. A Service of Remembrance will take place at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Cemetery.
