Dr. Jan Walter Wrobleski Obituary

Dr. Jan Wrobleski, 73, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, beloved husband of Francette Campanelli Wrobleski and father of Ian Anthony Wrobleski, entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2021, at home with his wife by his side. Dr. Jan Walter Wrobleski born on May 29, 1948, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Dr. Joseph Wrobleski and Pauline Kwasney Wrobleski and brother to the late Robert Wrobleski (Pam). In addition to his devoted wife of 46 years and son, he is survived by brother Dr. Gregory Wrobleski, wife Catherine and their four children and the two children of Robert and Pam. Jan was raised in Clairton, Pennsylvania and was a lifelong Steelers fan. He attended college at WVU in Morgantown, West Virigina. He completed undergraduate school in three years and was accepted into dental school early. He received his doctorate degree in dentistry in 1973. Jan served as a member of the teaching staff in the dental department of operative dentistry for a year. Upon Francette's graduation in 1974 they moved to Charleston, West Virginia. While there, Jan practiced general dentistry in Sissonville, West Virginia with Dr. Burl Jones. During that time he worked on a mobile dental bus with the Head-start program part time, and his love for Pediatric Dentistry blossomed. To follow his passion Jan was accepted at MUSC Pediatric Dental program in Charleston, South Carolina. Before commencing his residency he and Francette married on June 19,1976. They lived in Charleston, South Carolina for his two year residency. After graduation he returned to West Virginia to begin a pediatric dental practice but realized that was the wrong Charleston and decided his home would be in the Lowcountry. He relocated to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina in 1979 and started his dental practice. In 2004 his practice grew with the addition of Dr. Will MacDonald and a year later Dr. Michael Myers. The group then changed the name of the practice to Kid's Teeth and built two. Kid's Teeth became his heart and soul. In 2014 Dr. Jan retired and in his spare time Dr. Jan loved to play golf anytime and anywhere. He frequently traveled with his golf buddies to experience new and favorite courses. He was a member at Snee Farm Country Club for a time, but his home away from home was Bulls Bay Golf Club where he was a founding member. You could always find his little red truck in the parking lot. In 1980 He joined the Charleston Rotary Club and was involved in many projects including the Wood for Warmth program and The Gift of Life program. He served as an Associate Professor in the Pediatric Dental Department at MUSC and worked at the Ladson Coastal Center. He was also an active member of Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant where he loved to volunteer. Another passion was utilizing his dental skills to provide free dental exams at the annual Hootie and the Blowfish Homegrown Roundup, a back to school program for children in the Lowcountry. With children at the center of his heart Dr. Jan's favorite charity became Windwood Farm Home for Boys. Here he saw a need and led a campaign to raise funds to have a horse arena installed for their therapeutic equine program. Dr.Jan was a giving, loving, kind and humble soul and he will be missed by everyone he touched. A celebration of Dr. Jan's life will be held on Friday January 7,2022, 11 AM, at Seacoast Church, 750 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina 29464. The livestream can be viewed at: live.seacoast.org. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to the Alzheimer's Association or Windwood Farm for Boys.
