<p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>C.A. Ray, Jr., age 71, Flag Pond, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. He is a son of the late Clarence Admar Ray, Sr. and Mabel Rice Wright. C.A. was born in Erwin before his family moved to Denbigh, Virginia. He lived in Denbigh for several years before moving to Tennessee and finally settling in Flag Pond.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>C.A. was previously employed by Moore&rsquo;s Building Supply where he worked in Management. Later, he began working for Lowes Building Supplies where he was a Sales Associate in Tool World Department. C.A. worked in the Building Supply Industry for over forty years.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>He was a member and Elder of Jennie Moore Presbyterian Church. C.A. loved the Lord, his church and his church family. When the Pastor was out of town, C.A. was called upon to bring the message at church. C.A. was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He had a gentle heart and gentle spirit. C.A. was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and he loved the beautiful East Tennessee Mountains. He built his family home in Flag Pond with the help of his father. C.A. was a very hard-working man who always provided for his family.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Wright.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>He leaves behind to cherish many precious memories, his wife of forty-four years, Saundra Earnhardt Ray; four children: Kay Ray, Christie Salyer, both of Williamsburg, VA, Cherie Ray, Flag Pond and Melissa Rice, Erwin; three grandchildren: Alison Hensley, Connor Sayler and Jordan Rice; three sisters: Atlas Back (Milton), Jackie Fisher (Ray) and Sharon Martin; his cousin who was like a brother to him, Dennis Greene (Kerry); several nieces and nephews also survive.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM &nbsp;Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Jennie Moore Presbyterian Church. Memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM. C.A. Ray, Jr., age 71, Flag Pond, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. He is a son of the late Clarence Admar Ray, Sr. and Mabel Rice Wright.
