Lynne M. (Mason) Lewis of Harrisville, passed away on December 19, 2021, at the age of 74. She was born on October 17, 1947 in Newport, RI to her late parents, James B. and Isaline (Rodda) Mason. She was also the step-daughter of the late George Samways. She is predeceased by an older sister Marilyn (Merre) Mason. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John Lewis of Harrisville; her brother-in-law Ken Lewis and his wife Pat of Glocester; brother-in-law Stephen Lewis and his husband Gary Bassett of St. Petersburg, FL; sister-in-law Janice Pass and her husband Curtis of Durham, ME and several loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Lynne obtained a Master's Degree of Library Science from URI and a second Master's Degree in Reading from RIC. She dedicated her entire adult career to library services. Lynne worked at the James P. Adams library at RIC, as a bookmobile librarian for the State Library Services and as the school librarian at the Captain Issac Paine School in Foster. She retired after 28 years of library service.
Lynne and John spent many vacations traveling around the country in their camper. They were also members of several camping clubs in RI and CT. She was a communicant of Chepachet Union Church for many years serving as a Deacon for seven years.
Calling hours will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 9 to 10AM in the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag, followed by a funeral service in Chepachet Union Church, 1138 Putnam Pike, Chepachet.
