William P. Hopping

<p>William P. Hopping, 96, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021.</p> <p>He was born September 15, 1925, in Aurora, IN, son of the late Frank Hopping and Louise (Petscher) Hopping.&nbsp;<br /> He served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II.</p> <p>He worked as a Business Educator and Asst. Band Director for Lawrenceburg High School.</p> <p>He was a member of Unity of Garden Park Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.&nbsp; William was a volunteer at the Hillforest Historical Foundation, helping with bookkeeping and taxes.&nbsp;</p> <p>William still kept in touch with his Seabee buddies.&nbsp; He was a lover of life, a farm boy growing up who absolutely loved being outdoors.&nbsp; He still enjoyed sitting outside watching the birds. He was a Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds fan.&nbsp; William enjoyed field archery, music, and loved working cross word and jig saw puzzles.&nbsp; His favorite times were spent with his wife, whether they were traveling or just being together.&nbsp; His favorite prayer was &quot;The light of God surrounds us, the love of God enfolds us, the power of God protects us, and the presence of God watches over us.&nbsp; Wherever we are God is and all is well.&nbsp;</p> <p>William&nbsp; is survived by his children, Jolly M. Conrad of Indianapolis, IN, Louise Wasch (Kevin Filiatrault) of Vandalia, OH, William Andrew Hopping of Lawrenceburg, IN; sister, Elizabeth &quot;Betty&quot; Wagner of Osgood, IN; grandchildren, Nicolas Conrad, Andrew (Amber) Conrad, Blake Conrad, Grant Wasch; great-grandchildren, Aiden &amp; Anderson Conrad.&nbsp;</p> <p>He was preceded in death by parents, Frank &amp; Louise; loving wife, Jane (Davis) Hopping; siblings, Frank, Albert &amp; Olivia Hopping.&nbsp;</p> <p>Services will be held at the convenience of the family.</p> <p>Contributions may be made to the Hillforest Historical Foundation.&nbsp; Please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.</p>

William P. Hopping, 96, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021.

He was born September 15, 1925, in Aurora, IN, son of the late Frank Hopping and Louise (Petscher) Hopping. 
He served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II.

He worked as a Business Educator and Asst. Band Director for Lawrenceburg High School.

He was a member of Unity of Garden Park Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.  William was a volunteer at the Hillforest Historical Foundation, helping with bookkeeping and taxes.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
