Ephraim Joseph Coffin Bishops Falls, Newfoundland and Labrador Obituary

Ephraim Joseph Coffin

Ephraim Coffin, May 13, 1940 – December 17, 2021 It is with great sadness, that the family announce the passing of husband, father, grandfather and brother. Ephraim Coffin on December 17, 2021, at the CNRHCC, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Ephraim was born in Joe Batts Arm, Fogo Island, NL to George and Eleanor (Nellie) Coffin. He moved to Botwood then Bishop’s Falls with his parents and brothers and sisters, and remained and raised his own family. Ephraim worked hard and retired after 35 years at Department of Highways. I’ve heard many stories of how hard he worked in the worse kind of weather, shoveled sand and salt out of the back of the dump trucks used to keep the highways safe, before the automatic sanders. Ephraim leaves to mourn his passing, wife Mildred of 57 years, son Bertram, daughters Esther Barth, and Eleanor Macdonald. Brother Stephen of Joe Batts Arm, sister Joan living in Springdale, NL. Also his beloved grandchildren, Mitzi Barth, ON. Skylar Barth, ON. Joseph Coffin, Halifax, NS. And Julia MacDonald, Bishop’s Falls, NL. And great grand children, Yousef and Nina. Also leaving with fond memories are many nephews, nieces and extended family members and friends. There will be no funeral service has per his request. Cremation has already taken place according to his wishes.
