Loretta Jean Priest, 91, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Country Club Rehabilitation, in Mount Vernon.

Loretta was born April 26, 1930, in DuBois, Pennsylvania to Eugene and Florence {Lenkerd} Kriner.

Loretta graduated from Mount Vernon Academy in 1948.  

She married Glenn “Pete” Priest after graduation in 1948.  Glenn passed away September 8, 1985

For most of her life, Loretta was a devoted homemaker, loving wife, and mother. Later she worked and retired from Mount Vernon Developmental Center. She was an active member of the Mount Vernon Seventh Day Adventist Church. Loretta loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. She was only a stranger once.

Loretta will be deeply missed by her children Linda Hutchison, David (Donna) Priest, Donald Priest, Patricia Casto, John Priest, and Connie (Mark) Mott; grandchildren Jason (Darcy) Ewers, David (Carma) Priest Jr., Chad (Katherine) Priest, Erica (Steven) Holt, Quentin (Emily) Platt, D’Artagnan Casto, Rosie (Nadia) Casto, John (Lisa) Priest Jr., Brian (Sarah) Priest, Sophi Priest, and Baylee Priest; many great-grandchildren; sister Joan Weseman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, brother James Kriner, and sister Norma Vail.
