Virginia “Jennie” Dale Oliger Kilcrease, October 17, 1942 - December 13, 2021 (79 years young)


Jennie passed away peacefully, with family by her side, December 13, 2021, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born in Marked Tree, Arkansas (Friars Mill community) to Wilburn and Alta Johnson Oliger.


She grew up in Pine Bluff (Dew Drop Dollarway area) and attended Dollarway and White Hall schools.


She worked as a certified nursing assistant for 45 years.


She married Jerry Kilcrease in El Paso, Texas on June 24, 1962. His entire working career was in retail store management that transferred him to ten different states from California to Virginia. She said she didn’t want to live in one place all her life and she got her wish.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her maternal grandparents Walter and Audra Jones Johnson and paternal grandparents Fred and Bertha Simpson Oliger and bonus grandmother Ruby Oliger. She was also preceded in death by her brother Louis Oliger and her niece (Louis’s daughter) Lisa Oliger Jones, who passed away January 6, 2021.


She leaves behind, to cherish her memories, husband of 59 years, Jerry L. Kilcrease of Pine Bluff; daughter, Tanya Kilcrease (Dennis) Lightsey of Rison; sons, Tony Kilcrease of Clarksville, Mark (Deborah) Kilcrease of St. Augustine, Florida, Scott Kilcrease of Sheridan; grandson, Colton Lightsey; sisters, Ann Oliger Cooper of El Paso, Texas, Louise Oliger London of Pine Bluff; brother, Ken Oliger of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Ramona Oliger (Louis’s wife) of Thornton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


She has had animals and a love for them all of her life and leaves behind two fur babies: Sammy and Bubba.


A Celebration of life will be Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
