Paul J. Casparro Obituary

Paul J. Casparro of North Scranton passed away Tuesday, December 14th at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia. His wife of 45 years is the former Alice Timlin. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Ciampi Casparro. Paul was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Mansfield University. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local 81 where he served as a Journeyman Electrician, Training Director, Assistant Business Manager, and Business Manager for many years. He also served as chairman and panel member of the National Electrical Code Committee. Paul was an avid sports fan and a proud supporter of the New York Giants, Penn State Nittany Lions, New York Yankees, Syracuse Orange and any other college he had the pleasure of visiting. He became an avid golfer in recent years with the highlight being a Hole in One on Hole 5 at Elmhurst Country Club. His greatest joy was his family. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Paul R. (Danielle), Lindsey Evans (Eamon), Lauren Conaboy (Quinn); grandchildren, James, Emilia, and Josephine Casparro, Quinn, Brady, and Celia Conaboy; sister, Patricia Natale (Tony); nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at NROC, especially Dr. Meghan Haggerty, Dr. Lisa Thomas, and Nicole Francis PA; also the nurses in Telemetry at Regional Hospital, and the doctors and nurses at Fox Chase Cancer Center, especially Dr. Martin J. Edelman. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 am in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday from 8:30 am until time of the Mass at the church. The family requests that masks be worn due to the ongoing pandemic. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Ave. Scranton, PA. 18509 or IBEW Local 81 the Disabled Members Fund, 431 Wyoming Ave Scranton, PA 18503. Arrangements have been entrusted and are under the care of the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave.
