Becky Georgene (Stanford) Hodges passed away on December 2, 2021, surrounded by loved
ones in the comfort of her own home. Though her battle with leukemia ended sooner than her
loved ones expected, they find comfort in knowing that she is now rejoicing in heaven with her
savior, Jesus.
Becky was born on February 23, 1946, in Harrisonburg LA and she married her beloved, Don
Hodges, on March 9, 1963 and they enjoyed 58 joyful years of marriage. Along with her
husband, she leaves behind three sons Doug (wife Lisa), Donald (wife Deb), and Isaac (wife
Tiffany), as well as twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Becky was a beloved member of her community. Over the years, she worked as a carhop,
florist, caterer, adult care provider, and a member of Soroptimist International. She was also a
kind friend and wonderful hostess. There was always an extra place setting at her dinner table,
and she loved to welcome others into her home and share her delicious cooking. Her family
looked forward to her adventurous “NanaPa Camp” every summer. She was generous, kind,
faithful, and patient; she loved to worship her Lord and truly loved others as herself.
As her health declined, Becky wanted her loved ones to know that she was at peace. She knew
that she was going home to be with her Lord. Though her loss is painful for so many, we live in
confident hope of seeing her again one day.
She will be buried in the family cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held at Grace Bible
Church on January 15, 2022, at 1 pm. All who loved her are invited to attend. If you would like,
we also invite you to wear purple (her favorite color) in her honor.
