Stanley Russell Friesen was born in Visalia, CA to Jack Friesen and Betty (Coker) Friesen on May 30, 1950. Stan lived most of his life in Fresno, CA before retiring to Brookings, OR in 2008. Stan also worked in Stuttgart, Germany and at the Pentagon in Washington DC during his time as a computer specialist in the Army from 1971 to 1975. Stan passed away in Brookings at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Betty and by former wife Marianne Parano. Stan is survived by his daughter Kathryn Parano-Friesen, sister Barbara Telaro and her husband Frank Telaro, brother Dan Friesen and wife Mary, brother Jeff Friesen and wife Doreen, and their children; son Chris Friesen and his wife Laurel Ciummo and their two daughters Clementine and Magnolia, and daughter Jessica Gravano and her husband Jason Gravano. Stan enjoyed playing great classic rock and roll music at high volumes, collecting treasures from long walks on the beach, board games, crosswords, sudoku puzzles, brightly colored kites, tropical fish, Bud Light, taking beautiful photographs, whispering to cats, skillfully creating craft projects, model ships, reading science fiction novels, exercising his green thumb, and having a blast at car and air shows with his daughter Katie. Stan was smart, witty, loving, kind, thoughtful, generous, and will be greatly missed. Donations can be made in Stan's honor to your favorite Veterans charity. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held on Dec 30, 2021 at 12:30pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church 1084 W Bullard Ave Fresno, CA 93711
