Opal Pearl Boffo Obituary

Opal Boffo, 101, passed peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, surrounded by love. Opal graduated from Kent State University, where she was a Phi Beta Kappa scholar, and active in theater. She went on to earn a graduate degree. Her work life was extremely varied. She was a speech therapist, radio professor, did production and on-air radio work at WOR in NY, directed a program for pregnant teens, did greenhouse manufacture and sales, and she worked for a circus in NYC. She was involved in community service most of her life, and was very active in the Presbyterian church in Haddonfield, NJ. There she began a prison ministry. Her husband, Lou Boffo, died in 2008. Surving family are her children; Dion Boffo and Irene. Daughters Elysa and Roberta Boffo. Son Anthony Boffo. 7 grandchildren, Todd ,Kristen and Jason Boffo,Ben and Andy Debrunner,Sarah and Marc Berkowitz. 7 great-grandchildren; Ashley, Jackson and Giana Boffo; Cece,Reid and Eloise De Brunner; August DeBrunner. Graveside services with inurnment will take place Thursday December 16, 2021 at 2pm at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV 26067 .
