Rosita Louisa Koontz Obituary

Our Wife, Mom, Amuma, Sister, Friend, and a true disciple of Jesus – Rosita Louisa Koontz passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born the daughter of Margarita Ogden and Devoin McWhorter on November 28, 1942 in French Camp, California.

She attended school at St. Teresa’s Academy and Boise State College. She worked as a nurse for over 20 years and was an active member of the Church and Basque Community.

She met the love her life, Kenneth Koontz, at an early age. These two lustful love birds turned a walk around the block into a 63-year marriage, filled with precious memories. For most of their life, they lived in Boise, ID with frequent stays at their condo in McCall, ID.

She loved cooking, hosting family events, and playing a fun game of cards. She cherished her friends and family, and encouraged love, acceptance, and forgiveness.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Koontz, 5 children, Roger Koontz, Thereasa Koontz, Lanette Brooks (Glen), Mike Koontz, and Susan Jensen (Jim), Sister Mary Loos (Jack), Brothers David (Patti) Ogden, Mark Ogden (Brad), and Sister in law Sharon (Ralph) Moffit, 15 grandchildren, and 22 and counting great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Life will never be the same without you, Rosita Koontz. We’d like to thank the community for all the love and support we have received.

In lieu of flowers donations may Be made to Euskaldunak, St. Jude children’s hospital, or Doctors Without Borders.

We love you Amuma – we’ll miss you a latte!
