As a result of being raised in a Christian home, Willie  gave her life to the LORD and was baptized at a young age at Mt. Elam M. B. Church in Pearl, Mississippi.

She received her elementary education at Sweet Rest School in Pearl, Mississippi and went on to  attended Jim Hill High School in Jackson Mississippi. Years later she attended cosmetology school and passed the board exam to be licensed as a cosmetologist.

Willie was married to her high school sweetheart Earnest Lee Hines, Sr. and to that union four amazing, beautiful, kind, intelligent and generous spirited children were born.  Sadly their marriage ended.  Later she was married to Eddie Stevenson.  He provided much love, joy and happiness in her life until his death.

Willie raised her children to love God and to rely on him as she had during her lifetime. She taught them to respect their elders, to tell the truth, the value of money, how to pay their bills on time, save some money and to live within their means.  She really loved her children.  She attended Cherry Grove Baptist Church, until her health began to fail.

Willie enjoyed engaging in activities with her family.  She especially loved her grandchildren and the icing on the cake were her great- grandchildren.  She liked cooking, baking, styling hair, sewing and traveling.  She was fortunate to travel to outside of the United States to Canada and Mexico during her lifetime. She was a financially smart, kind, fearless, strong, generous and loving person with a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by all those who know her.  Her favorite bible reading was Psalm 23.
