Mary Elizabeth Jones
Mary Elizabeth Jones of Aberdeen passed away at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on Monday, December 6. She was 99. Born in Johnston County, NC she was the daughter of the late James & Pearline (Langdon) Parker and wife of the late Albert S. Jones, Jr. Mrs. Jones was a proud US Army WAC veteran, serving during WWII and was a retired nurse and medical tech at the Kirk Army Hospital. She was a member of the Women's Army Corps Veteran Association-Chapter 70, the Aberdeen Golden Age Club and Grove Presbyterian Church. In her spare time she enjoyed being with family, traveling and crocheting. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth “Libby” Richardson of Darlington, Gwendolyn “Gwen” Privette of Wendell, NC, Parry S. Jones of Enterprise, AL and David M. Jones of Wareham, MA; sister, Eloise Poole of Four Oaks, NC; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her son, Douglas A. Jones and her grandson, Cody G. Richardson. A graveside service will take place on a future date at Arlington National Cemetery.April 28, 1922 - December 6, 202104/28/192212/06/2021
