Amy Ann Geu, age 97, of Sidney, NE passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 in Sidney. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., December 20, 2021 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney, NE, with Pastor Chad Rademacher officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Sidney, NE. Services will be recorded and available on our website for viewing. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 1-6:00 P.M. to sign Ann’s register book and leave condolences for the family. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Amy’s care and funeral arrangements. Amy Ann Larson Geu was born on August 14, 1924 to Carl T. and Amy I. Willeford Larson of Potter, NE, and was the oldest of 7 children, her twin sister Lois Ann passed away at birth. Ann grew up at the family homestead south west of Potter, graduating from Potter High School in 1941 and attended Kearney State College where she received a teaching certificate. During World War II she worked at the Sioux Army Depot located NW of Sidney NE and then continued to teach elementary school in the Sidney area until the late 1940's. On December 4, 1949 she married Henry J. Geu in Potter NE. Henry and Ann lived and farmed north east of Sidney where they raised their 3 young children, DeeAnn, Jay and Larry until 1964 when the family moved into Sidney. Ann enjoyed working with Henry to own and operate a successful farm and insurance agency for several decades. She loved spending time with family and friends, including the last several decades for the monthly gathering of Larson cousins at Runza. She is survived by, daughter DeeAnn Vink of Ft Collins, CO, son Jay Geu of Sidney NE, daughter-in-law Cindy Boche (Richard), sister Merrill (Ron) Alfs of Shickley NE and sister-in-laws Evelyn Geu and Rosemarie Geu both of Sidney. Grandchildren Christian (Beth) Geu of Cheyanne WY, Matthew (Darcy) Geu of Round Rock TX, Christina Vink of Fort Collins CO, Paul Geu of Springfield OR, Joshua Geu of Central City NE, and Stephan Geu of Peetz CO. Ann was blessed with one great granddaughter and 8 great grandsons. She is also survived by family friend “other daughter” Dixie Wulf (Brian) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by parents Carl T and Amy I Larson, husband Henry, son Larry, son in law Jim Vink and granddaughter-in-law Bekka Geu, sisters Lois Ann Larson, Joyce Jensen and husband John, Sherrill Svoboda and husband Ivan, brothers Cal Larson and wife Dorothy and Bud Larson, brother in laws Earl and Harold Geu and sister-in-law Arlene Matthewson and husband Rod. Memorials can be made to Sidney Regional Extended Care or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
