Joel J. "Roger" Goetsch Obituary

Joel “Roger” John Goetsch died peacefully early Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. He was 67 years old. Joel was the son of Gary and Lucille (nee Spieker) Goetsch of Sherman Center. Joel was a lifelong member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church- Sherman Center. He attended St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Random Lake High School, Class of 1972. Joel and his wife of 31 years, Ronda (nee Mueller) Goetsch, made their home at the family farmstead in the Town of Sherman. Joel was known for his love of cars; He owned and operated Roger’s Country Service and enjoyed restoring classic muscle cars. Joel and Ronda both worked in the pit crew at the Plymouth racetrack for Porsche races and loved going to the Indy 500 and other races. He loved hunting and the outdoors; he especially loved hunting with his good friend Chad Peters. “Roger” was a member Pheasants Forever and Random Lake Rod & Gun Club where he enjoyed trap shooting. Joel is survived by sisters Jackie (Bob) Deppisch of Random Lake and Jodine Deppisch of Grafton, and brother James (LuAnn) Goetsch of Sheboygan Falls. He is further survived by brothers-and sisters-in-law Ron Mueller, Laura (Jeff) Kohl, Jeff (Cindy) Mueller, Jack Mueller, Jill (Jesse) Anklam and Mark Mueller, uncle Merlin Spieker, numerous nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Joel is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Dion Mueller. He was joined in heaven by his loving wife Ronda on December 8th. Visitation will be held for both Mr. and Mrs. Goetsch from 3-7PM on Monday, December 20th at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. Funeral Services for Roger will be at 10AM on Tuesday, December 21st, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, W5406 County Hwy SS, Random Lake (Sherman Center). The Rev. Christopher Gillespie will preside. Mr. Goetsch will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery following the service. Memorials are suggested to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation.
