Simeon Martin

DTHD Simeon Banks Martin Sr. 94 of Franklin, passed away on December 5, 2021. Simeon was born in Sebring FL to the late Maron and Dorothy Williams Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Maron Merritt Martin Jr. Simeon was an Army Veteran that served in World Word II. He was an interim pastoral at Iotla Baptist Church and a Supply Pastor at Higdonville and Yellow Mountain Baptist. He taught Hebrew and Greek for over 20 years at Florida Baptist School. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Sylvia Leitner Martin; children, Banks (Bonita) of Panama City and Mary Brooks (n Jimmy) of Pine Log FL; 4 grandchildren, Joseph Brooks (Suzanne), Christopher Brooks (Ania), Randall Brooks (DeAnn) and Ashley Martin Ethridge; and 10 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends and loved ones at Iotla Baptist Church on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 1pm-2pm. Followed by a service at 2pm. Burial will be at Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided VFW Post 7339, and American Legion Post 108. Rev. Brandon Breedlove, Rev. Steve Reeves, Rev. Pero Varfi will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tommy Bennett, grandson, and great grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Cynthia Rowland, 886 Younce Creek Rd, Franklin, NC 28734. sorry for your loss i know that every time i visited with MR.SIMEON MARTIN for the holidays he would take me in as his own family and i have never felt so welcome WITH holidays as i felt there at MR . MARTIN THANK YOU .
