Phyllis L. (Lerch) Fertig

Mrs. Phyllis L. (Lerch) Fertig, 93, of Waynesboro, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Quincy Home in Waynesboro, PA. Born June 23, 1928 in Mount Carmel, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Helen (Swank) Lerch. Mrs. Fertig was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School with the class of 1946. She and her husband of over 45 years, the late Mr. Walter Fertig, were married in Mount Carmel on May 17, 1952. Mr. Fertig passed away in 1998. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro. Mrs. Fertig is survived by her son, Wynn Fertig of Waynesboro. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Fay (Lerch) Jonkus and Marie (Lerch) George. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro. Burial will take place in Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later time. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Saturday morning, in the funeral home.
