<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:22px;">Graveside service for Elner Sue Madry Ridge, age 87, of Decatur, will be Thursday, December 9, 2021, 11:45 a.m. at Midway Memorial Gardens with Pastor Richie Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home.</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:22px;">Mrs. Ridge, who died Monday, December 6, 2021, at Brookdale Cedar Springs assisted living, was born August 8, 1934, in Lawrence County, to William Dupree Madry and Cynthia Ellen Hayes.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Leon Ridge; and four siblings.</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:22px;">She is survived by three daughters, Susan Wheeler (Dale) of Priceville, Pamela McMunn (James) of Athens, and Debra Ridge Proctor of Cullman; eleven grandchildren, David Wheeler (Misty) of Priceville, Phillip Wheeler (Nicole) of Priceville, Benjamin Wheeler (Anna Claire) of Madison, Elizabeth Wheeler Dean (Andrew) of Priceville, Melissa Jones of Decatur, Katherine Jones of Moulton, Lauren Jones Allen (Mickey) of Priceville, Robert Proctor (Rachel) of Madison, Rachel Proctor Tortorano (Sean) of Kansas City, MO, Luke Proctor of Addison, and Mason Proctor (Brooke) of Arley; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Phillips of Birmingham, and Ann Jennings (Dale) of Foley.</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:22px;">Mrs. Ridge was the beloved wife of the late Carl Leon Ridge of Muncie, Indiana. They traveled the country and overseas with their three daughters as he served our country in the United Sates Air Force for twenty years. She was born and raised in Caddo, Alabama, one of seven children. She worked as a secretary in the later years of Chemstrand later to become Monsanto. Mrs Ridge was a dedicated mother to their three daughters. She passed on to her daughters her talent as a seamstress and the love of her hobbies of gardening and crocheting. She also passed on her love of God and taught her daughters to live lives that honored Him.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:22px;">Pallbearers will be grandsons.</span></strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
