Alex Economy Jr., 64, of Goldsboro passed away suddenly from a tragic accident at his home on Saturday, December 4, 2021.

 

A visitation will be held Saturday December 11, 2021 from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at Adamsville Baptist Church in Goldsboro. A celebration of life will follow at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary. 

 

Alex was born in Wayne County on November 27, 1957.  He was acting as owner of Economy Rentals in Goldsboro for the past 14 years. He was a hard worker and was always fixing stuff and keeping things organized. Alex was always willing to help others out at a moments notice. One of his passions was his love for the outdoors. He always had green grass, even in the winter time. You could get directions to his house simply by looking for the greenest lawn in the neighborhood.   Alex had the prettiest flowers and was always planting new ones and was willing to share with others. His other passion was his animals, they were very special to him. He never mistreated an animal and rescued many. His furbabies were his children. 

 

He is survived by his father, Alex Economy Sr. of Goldsboro; his sister, Mary Worthington and husband, Ted of Kinston; his special friends, John Jones, David Carlyle and Danny Ray among many others, he made friends wherever he was and cherished each one;  also he is survived by his special two furbabies, Dusty and Lexis and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Hines Economy; his stepmother, Goldie Jones Economy and his two furbabies, Buddy and Lulu.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Hope For Paws Animal Rescue in California, Snap NC Animal Spay and Neuter, Vet Ranch on youtube and Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue in Goldsboro, North Carolina. 

 

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
