Arland Kent “Arlie” Golliher, 74, of Galesburg, died at 7:26 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2021 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Arlie was born on August 2, 1947 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Ralph and Esther (Whitledge) Golliher.  Arlie joined the US Army on April 29, 1966, serving in Vietnam earning two purple hearts.  He was honorably discharged on December 28, 1970.  Arlie married Joyce Mosley in 1969.  She preceded him in death in 1988.  He later married Deborah L. Hendricks on July 13, 1997 in Galesburg.  Arlie is survived by his wife, Debbie of Galesburg; one son, Shawn (Missy) Golliher of Hampton, VA; one daughter, Katrina (Patrick) Shaver of Manhattan, IL; two step daughters, Christina Hendricks of Galesburg and Tammy (Darin) Johnson of Galesburg; and his beloved nine grandchildren, James, Elizabeth, Matthew, Jonathan, and Rachel Shaver, Brianna and Brittany German, Destiny Dudley, and Chelsea Hemingway. Arlie is also survived by a close friend, Donetta Cederberg of Galesburg; and two sisters-in-law, Kathy Golliher of Arizona and Becky Sottos of Galesburg.  Along with his first wife and parents, Arlie was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Arlie worked as a contract driver for many years for the United States Postal Service and later the Galesburg Handivan.  Arlie enjoyed many years calling bingo at the Labor Temple in Galesburg.  He enjoyed being outdoors hunting for morel mushrooms, was an avid collector of treasures, and was talented with a sewing machine and enjoyed quilting and making numerous crafts.  He also had a love for video games, especially his PS4.  Most of all, Arlie enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren. Cremation will be accorded.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of Watson Thomas Funeral Home, 1849 N. Seminary St., Galesburg, IL 61401.
