Steven Terry Minnick, 64, of Accident, MD, went to be with his beloved wife, Michaela “Mikie” (Smith) Minnick, whom he dearly loved and missed, on Sunday, December 5, 2021. Born September 30, 1957, in Frostburg, MD, he was the son of the late Bernard and Elnora (Garlitz) Minnick, Sr. Along with his wife of 45 years of marriage on November 6th, he was also preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerod and Kimberly (Garlitz) Minnick; former daughter-in-law, Teresa (Knox) Minnick; sister and brother-in-law, Alda and Don Wade; three brothers, Jackson Minnick, Millard Minnick and Bernard “Junior” Minnick, Jr.; and his father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Audrey Smith. Steve was head custodian at Northern Garrett High School for 33 years, he’d joke about how many kids go thru that school. He was a proud worker at Minn-scape, having worked there for 10 years after his retirement. He enjoyed re-doing and tinkering with his old ’50 GMC and ’51 Chevy Sedan, having a conversation with his good friend, Daymo nd Schmuck and talking about the old days with his brother, Bob. Steve also enjoyed his old Rock-n-Roll and Doo Wop, you could hear him jamming in his garage any given evening after a quick ride in his old ’51 Chevy. Steve was a very kind hearted father, brother, uncle and friend. He never met a stranger and lived every day to the fullest. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Accident. He is survived by one son, Michael Steven Minnick and fiancée, Katie Steyer, one daughter, Heather Minnick, and two granddaughters, Alicia Minnick and Cheyenne Garrett, all of Accident; one brother, Robert Minnick, Finzel, MD; three sisters-in-law, Gloria Minnick, Pocahontas, PA; Carol Minnick, Finzel; Karen (Minnick) Legget, Hancock, MD; several nieces and nephews. At his request, he was cremated. A visitation will be held in the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 26722 Garrett Hwy., Accident (McHenry), on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 4-6 p.m. A joint Celebration of Life for Steve and Michaela will follow in the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Daymond Schmuck officiating.
