Passed away at the Tiger Hills Health Centre, Treherne, MB, on Sunday December 5, 2021 at the age of 97 years, Joseph Antonio Baete, formerly of Holland, MB.

Joe leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Marguerite (nee Marginet), daughters Velma (Ken) Scott of Brandon, MB, Elaine Baete sgm of Montreal QC, son Darren Baete (Tammy Dolliver) of Calgary, AB; four grandchildren Jodi-Ann McDonald (Marc Bishop), Andrea & Adam Austerberry, Skylar France; two great grandchildren Kali-Jo & Jai-Lynn McDonald & by great great grandson Dayton.

He is also survived by two sisters Rose Van de Kerckhove of Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB and Mary Godard of Aldergrove, BC, in-laws Anne Baete of Baldur, MB, Mary Adam of Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB, Angel Fifi of Bruxelles, MB, Celine (Renald) Lebeau of Chater, MB, Robert (Jacqueline) Marginet of Holland, MB, Annette (Bert) Wytinck of Cypress River, MB, Alice DeDecker of Glenora, MB as well as numerous extended relatives & friends. 

Joe was predeceased by his daughter Karen Austerberry in 2019, parents Theophile Baete & Maria (nee Fifi), siblings Madeleine Fifi, Mike & Lucien Baete, Alice Van de Kerckhove, Germaine Haegmann & Angele Lebeau; brothers-in-laws Leo Fifi, Lorne Van de Kerckhove, Felix Godard, Richard Van de Kerckhove, Marcel Haegmann, Roger Lebeau and by sister-in-law Lorette Baete.

He was also predeceased by in-laws Roland Marginet, Alice Marginet, Adele (Albert) Cabernel, Clement Adam and Armand Fifi.

Prayers will be held on Thursday December 9, 2021 at 7:00 pm in the Jamieson Funeral Chapel, Holland, MB.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday December 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, Holland, MB, with Father Joseph Tran as Celebrant.  Interment to follow in the St. John Berchmans Parish Cemetery.  Proof of vaccination is required to attend prayers & the Mass.

The family would like to thank Dr. Vorster and the Tiger Hills Health Centre Nursing & Medical staff for all the care Joe received during this difficult time and for the support shown to mom & family.  Your kindness is very much appreciated.
