Dino P. Del Gaudio Huntington Station, New York Obituary

Dino P. Del Gaudio

Del Gaudio—Dino. The family of Dr. Dino P. Del Gaudio announces with great sadness that Dino passed away peacefully on December 5, 2021 at the age of 99. Dino was much loved and greatly admired for his dignity, warmth, kindness, and generosity of spirit. Dino was born on April 29, 1922, the son of Catherine and Frank Del Gaudio, and was raised in Brooklyn, New York. Dino graduated from Manhattan College, and then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to attend dental school at Marquette University. It was there, at a dance at the Eagles Ballroom, that he met Prudence (Richards), who would become his cherished wife of 56 years. Dino was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Prudence Del Gaudio, and is survived by his 9 children, 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Dino practiced dentistry for over 60 years in Williamsburg Brooklyn, where he was adored by his many patients, young and old. Dino was a man of great personal faith, recognized on numerous occasions by the Catholic Church for his tireless volunteer work on behalf of the pro-life movement. He was an active participant in many different sports, especially baseball, bowling and tennis, and he was passionate about music, particularly opera. As a young man growing up in Brooklyn, Dino worked as an usher at the famed Metropolitan Opera House, in part to make pocket money, but also to allow him to listen for free to the beautiful music. Dino was a true gentleman with a remarkable and infectious sense of joy and optimism. He will be profoundly missed, and his memory will truly be a blessing.
