Mary Lou Bollin Obituary

Mary Lou Bollin, 89, of Pikeville passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at her home. 


 
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 3 until 3:45 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Homegoing service will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina. 


 
Mary was born in Iowa on July 6, 1932 to the late Jefferson Davis and Grace DeVol Coleman. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary, the Optimist Club, the Women’s Mission Union and Mt. Nelson Missionary Baptist Church in Eureka. Mary was a past member of the Wayne County Youth Council and served as the Assistant Director of the Lighthouse for over 13 years. She also served as the Youth Activities Director for Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.


 
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Michael Bollin of Kansas and Paul William Bollin of Pikeville; one daughter, Linda Marie Murphy of New York; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Bollin Jr.; one son, George Davis Bollin; two brothers, Charles and Herbert Lee Coleman; one sister, Betty Peet and two grandchildren.
 


 
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
