Celebration of Life services for Helen L. Carter Greif, will be held on Thursday, December 9 at 11:00 AM at Stephens-Key Funeral Home in Pryor, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 10 at 11:00 AM at Lawson Cemetery in Yale, Oklahoma. Come and go viewing and book signing will be available on Wednesday after 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Services are under the care and direction of Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care in Pryor. Helen was born on March 23, 1930 in Quay, Oklahoma to Francis Neil and Edna Elvis (Skeen) Peery. She passed on to her new life in heaven on December 3, 2021 in Claremore, Oklahoma at the age of 91. Helen grew up and attended school in Quay as a child, then graduated from Cushing High School in 1948. Upon graduation, she married Bob R. Carter and they raised three daughters in Tulsa. She was a full time homemaker until she began her working career, which first included several oil companies. She eventually became a full charge bookkeeper and worked many years for Utility Supply. She later worked for Elder Paint, where she met her second husband, Ron Greif. The two were married on July 30, 1993. Helen retired around 2000 and moved to Pryor, Oklahoma a few years later. She was a loving wife, mother, Grams, and dear friend to many. Her daughters and grandchildren were her heart. Helen enjoyed dancing, RV travel, and visiting with and helping other people. She was a wonderful listener and many people were comfortable confiding in her. Her contagious smile was her calling card. If you knew Helen, you knew she was a woman of faith. She was devoted to studying the bible and was never afraid to share the love of Jesus with others. She was a current member of St. John Lutheran Church in Pryor. She will be greatly missed by all those she shared her long life with. She is survived by her husband, Ron Greif of the home; three daughters, Susan and Joe Hatchette of Locust Grove, Sally and David Walsh of Claremore, and Shay and Al Brinton of Tulsa; two step-children, Brian and Gigi Greif of Broken Arrow and Dawn and Joe Creason of Claremore; four grandchildren, Dusty and Stacey Walsh, Andrew and Megann Dewey, Sarah and Matthew Dunnery, and Timothy Walsh; eight step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six great-step-grandchildren; two great-great-step-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Peery and Beverly Peery; and many nieces, nephews and other special friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack Peery and Joe Peery.
