Clarice Dail Smith, 92, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was born on February 15, 1929 to the late Gurney Edward Dail and Pearl Radford Dail. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ashley H. Smith; sisters, Mildred Irene Dail, Dessiree D. Lipscomb and Betty Ruth Evans; and brothers, Clifton R. Dail, Roy E. Dail and Bud Dail. She is survived by her sister, Lily Rose Combs of Goldsboro; brother, Bobby G. Dail and wife Annette of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews. A service will be will be held by the graveside on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Willow Dale Cemetery with Rev. Chrystal McCullen officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Clarice wanted to express her special thanks to the doctors that cared for her through the years, Dr. Gaither, Dr. Jennings and Dr. Frederick. Your care helped me to live a long life.
