Donald John Melvin Stull was born February 15, 1948 in Marshalltown the son of Melvin and Doris (Inskeep) Stull. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School and attended Marshalltown Community College. In 1969, Donald was drafted into the United States Army and faithfully served our country until his honorable discharge in 1971. On November 24, 1973, he married the love of his life, Patricia (Patty) Lewis at St. Mary’s Church. The couple has always made Marshalltown their home.  Donald was the Director of Transportation for the Marshalltown Public School System for 43 years. During his time as the Director of Transportation, Don took care of Marshalltown students by ensuring their safety during athletic events, field trips and commuting to school. Don also taught future bus drivers and was a mentor to both his staff and students. He later accepted employment at the Hoglund Bus Company of Monticello, MN. Donald enjoyed being an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, fishing and golf, but most of all he cherished the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Donald had a large heart and kind spirit. His smile could light up a room. His laugh was contagious.  Donald also enjoyed dancing the night away with his wife. When his children were young, he attended every single one of their athletic events and was often the loudest in the stands. One of Donald’s other favorite activities was target shooting and attending gun shows, he was an avid marksman with safety as a priority. Don will always be remembered by all as a man who was friendly and caring to everyone he met. Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 48 years, Patty; his children, Kim (Nate) Anderson and Doug (Jade) Stull; his grandchildren: Quinn and Griffin Anderson, and Paige and Sienna Stull; his siblings, Carole Baily and Dean Stull along with numerous nieces and nephews, and his many supportive in-laws. In eternal life Donald has been reunited with his parents.
