Howard Wesley Carver, 76 of Franklin, passed away on December 1, 2021.

Howard was born in Macon County to Ethel Passmore Carver and the late James Wesley Carver.
In addition to his father, Howard was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Carver; siblings, Lily Parris, Bessie Cooper, and Ott Carver; and 3 grandsons, Logan Cline, Justin Halstead, and Jeremy Halstead.

Howard was an Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed puzzles, gardening, and loved to travel on his Harley.

He is survived by 3 children, Deborah Rorie (Jesse) of Monroe NC, Patricia “Trish” Halstead of Swannanoa NC, and Robert “Wes” Carver of Franklin NC; siblings, Terry Carver of Clarkesville GA, Dale Carver of Franklin NC, Doyle Carver of Franklin NC, David Carver of Highlands NC, Barbara Franks of Sylva NC, and Nell Jenkins of Franklin NC; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Macon Funeral Home on Monday December 6, 2021, from 2 pm – 3 pm.

A service will be held at Macon Funeral Home on Monday December 6, 2021, at 3 pm.

Burial to follow at Woodlawn with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.

Pallbearers will be Jordy Smith, Bernie Antis, Travis Brock, Scotty Cooper, and Wes Carver.
