Anne Stachowski
<p>MANTUA</p> <p>Anne Louise (de Bruyne) Stachowski, 98 years of age, passed away peacefully Friday, December 3, 2021, at UH- Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Anne was born in Middelburg, Holland on July 6, 1923, the daughter of the late Pieter and Anna (vaIperen) deBruyne. Her family escaped to England at the start of WWII and she served in the Dutch Navy, transporting troops in Jakarta. She married John Stachowski and immigrated to Canada in 1951. They later moved to the United States, settling in Mantua, Ohio, in 1959.</p> <p>Anne loved all animals, and she was instrumental in teaching her sons, Anthony, Peter and Jim, the values and work ethic necessary to manage livestock and farm life. She was immensely proud of the accomplishments her sons have had in the Alpaca and Arabian horse industries. She is survived by her sons: Anthony (Mary), Peter (Cyndi) and Jim (Shawn). Grandchildren: <br /> Ashton, Ava, and Jimmy Jr. She was preceded in death by her brother Pieter de Bruyne Jr., and husband John Stachowski. No calling hours or services. A Memorial Celebration will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 5:00 P.M.-9: 00 P.M. at the Mantua Corners & Event center, 11845 St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255.
