Thomas H Webster

Thomas H Webster, long time resident of Eagle River, died Wednesday Dec 1, 2021. He suffered a massive stroke, and fell asleep peacefully, surrounded by his wife and family. On Wednesday Dec 8 there will be a viewing at 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at St John Orthodox Cathedral, 18936 Monastery Dr., Eagle River. A grave side service will be at three p.m. at the church cemetery, including a military salute, followed by a meal in the church social hall. Tom is survived by his wife of 65 years, JoAnn, daughter and son-in-law Melinda and Dan Kendall of Eagle River, son and daughter-in-law Bill and Okcha Webster of Arizona, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Affectionately called "Grumpy” by his grandkids, he loved spending time teaching them to fish on the Kenai River, or just hanging out with his family. Tom spent 24 years in the US Army, serving twice in Vietnam. He retired as a Lt Col. In 1978. After that, he and his wife established Webster Tax Service in Eagle River, which is now owned and operated by his daughter Melinda.
