Helen D. Greenwald Obituary

Helen D. Greenwald (née Walsh), age 78, of Havertown, PA, unexpectedly passed away peacefully on December 1, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Helen (née McCullough) Walsh. Helen was devoted to her family and hosted dinner for her children and grandchildren nearly every Sunday for the past 20+ years. She thoroughly enjoyed taking trips to the casino where she would spend hours playing slots and blackjack (and always came home a winner even if that meant claiming ownership of her husband’s winnings).  Helen also looked forward to celebrating her Irish heritage while attending Irish weekend in Wildwood, NJ every year.

Helen was the beloved wife of Richard D. Greenwald, Sr.; the loving mother of Dorene Guzik (John), William Greenwald (Christine), and Richard Greenwald Jr. (who predeceased her in 2020). She was the devoted grandmother of Beth, Ryan, Patrick, Marissa, Johnny, Shana, Jeffrey, Michael, Billy, Haley and Emma.  Helen is also survived by her siblings, Joseph Walsh (Bonnie), Mary Bickel (Joseph), Michael Walsh (Carol), Patrick Walsh (Theresa) and James Walsh (Lorraine).  She is predeceased by her brother, John Walsh.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Tuesday, December 7, 2021, 9:30 – 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 105 Wilson Avenue, Havertown, PA  19083, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.  Interment at St. Denis Cemetery, Havertown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105, would be appreciated.

In Loving Memory: God Bless the Cook!
