Shirley E. (Gallant) McDonald December 2, 1935 – December 2, 2021 Shirley E. (Gallant) McDonald, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2021. She was 86 years old and lived a life led by her faith, unconditional love towards others and a generous nature. Daughter of the late Raymond and Tillie Gallant, Shirley was born in Lawrence and graduated from Sacred Heart School. She married the love of her life, Herbert McDonald of Lowell, MA, who pre-deceased her in 1976. They shared a love of music, dancing, ceramics, and time with friends and family. During her many years working as an administrative assistant in the biology department at Merrimack College, Shirley was known for her kindness and eagerness to help both students and colleagues. As she lost her sight and her health declined, she remained caring and interested in others, always happy to provide gentle support to everyone around her. Shirley will be sadly missed by her loving sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Edward Sheehan, nieces and nephews Karen Sheehan, Tom Sheehan, Colleen Grecco and Glenn Sheehan, great nieces and nephews, and long-time friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday, December 7th, from 9:00-11:00am at Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover.
