Curtis Ray Korzan was born on February 15, 1959 to Richard P. and Mary (Bravek) Korzan in Mitchell, SD. He graduated from Kimball High School in 1977 and went on to attend Mitchell Tech. On November 28, 1981 Curt was united in marriage to Lorelie “Lorie” Geppert at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Kimball.

He had previously worked for Midstate Communications and currently owned and operated Grand Slam Taxidermy and Grand Slam Pheasant Hunts. Curt was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, as well as serving as an EMT, he was also a big supporter of the Kimball School; and as a true conservationist, he was active in Park Cities Quail Coalition, SD Upland Outfitters Assoc., SD Second Century Habitat, NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Curt enjoyed hunting, farming – giving back to the land by planting trees, was known for “stirring the pot” and getting stuck a time or two; but he especially loved playing and spending time with his grandkids.

Grateful for having shared in Curt’s life: his wife of 40 years, Lorie Korzan of Kimball, SD; two sons and five grandchildren: Cody (Lynzi) Korzan and their children – Zaydi and Berhyt of Kimball, SD and Corbin (Ashley) Korzan and their children – Kinley, Irelynn and Rowyn of Kimball, SD; his mother, Mary Korzan of Kimball, SD; and two sisters: Janet Korzan of Marana, AZ and Cheryl Korzan of Phoenix, AZ.

Curt was preceded in death by his father, Richard P. “Bucky” Korzan and grandparents: Oliver Korzan and Julia (Korzan) Johnson, Joe and Anna Bravek.
