BARBARA E. SLOAN, age 78 years of Pittsford, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021at Hillsdale Hospital in Hillsdale. She was born on December 15, 1942 in Hillsdale, the daughter of Herbert L. and Velma E. (Evers) Rose. Barbara graduated from Pittsford High School in 1961. She married John J. Sloan on June 28, 1969 in Pittsford and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1979. Barbara enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching soap operas and reading romance novels. Barbara is survived by three sons, Kenny Sloan of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Scott Sloan and Herbert Sloan of Pittsford, a brother, Calvin (Beulah) Rose and a nephew, David Rose all of Osseo. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Robert Rose. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Douglas Plunkett officiating. Cremation will follow. Private interment of her ashes will take place at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery in Jefferson Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan. Visitation will be held from 2-4 P.M. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the family to help with expenses.
