Shirley Frances Thompson
Shirley Frances Thompson, 90, formerly of Eastlake, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at her niece’s home in Strongsville. She was born April 17, 1931, in Wayne County, W.Va. Shirley had been the Cleveland PTA President of West Denison Grade School and Thomas Jefferson Junior High. She was also a member and helper for many years with the Cleveland Food Bank. Shirley enjoyed gardening, was a Den Mother with Cub Scouts of America and had worked as a poll worker for many years. She was the loving mother of Belinda Church, Gary LaFollette and Sandra (Steve) Heidrick; stepmother of William Pandoli; cherished grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother of many; sister of Beverly (Steve) Kazanoff; and aunt of Pam Hamilton, Mark Kazanoff and Michele Gavin. Shirley was preceded in death by her children, Michael Church, William Church, Billie Church, Ramonda LaFollette and Darrell LaFollette; parents, Anthony Wayne and Annie Oakley (nee Ward) Thompson; her partner, William Pandoli, who was the love of her life since 1969; and many aunts and uncles, who have all gone to Heaven to wait for her there. Private services will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
