ROCKFORD- Pastor Amy Nyman, 80, of Rockford died friday, November 19, 2021, Born March 10, 1941, in Washington D.C. Graduated from Fairfax High School in 1959. Graduated from Northwestern University Bachelor of Music in 1963. Married Professor Bert Nyman in 1963. Graduated from Rockford College M.A. 1987. Graduated from Wartburg Seminary in 1993. Pastor Amy lived an accomplished, dynamic, selfless, bold LIFE! She was known for her wisdom, compassion, and kindness. President of local chapter of N.O.W., founding member of Rockford Horn Club 1982, did portrayals of young women in history, multiple travels to Bethlehem, avid reader, writer of stories, poems, and music, managing to do this with a developmental disability of Aspergers Syndrome. Ordained in 1994, Pastor at Faith Lutheran Church, Pastor Care Associated Provena CorMariae, Pastor at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Retired 2005. Interim Pastor at Tabor Emmanuel. Survived by her son, Eric M.Nyman. Predeceased by her husband, Bert Nyman; by her sister, Carolyn Taylor; brother, Rick Utting and son, Carl R. Nyman.
Memorial service at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church, Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church. Private inurnment in Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Patriots Gateway Community Center.
