Linda Ryan Beresford, 80, of Martinsburg passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Berkeley Medical Center after a one-year illness. Born July 28, 1941 in Belington, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William E. Ryan and Elma K. Ryan. Linda graduated from Belington High School in 1959. On August 28, 1959 she was united in marriage to Ivan Beresford. Together they raised two sons, Gary and Steve. Linda worked for the government and retired from the Martinsburg VA Center in 2003. The family has attended the Martinsburg Church of Christ for 15 years where Linda served as treasurer until the time of her death. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker who was known for her delicious family meals and hosted a Christmas party each year for her family and friends with plenty of delicious food. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ivan Beresford and one son, Steven Beresford; two brothers, one sister and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Beresford who preceded her in death in January; three brothers; and one sister. A joint memorial service is planned to honor both Linda and Gary at the Martinsburg Church of Christ on December 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM. After which her cremains will be buried in Belington alongside her beloved son. Arrangements made by Brown Funeral Home.
