Silas McKinney Jr.

<p>Silas McKinney Jr, age 73, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Baylor Scott &amp; White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on Sunday, September 26, 1948 to Silas John, and Eriss McKinney, in Idabel Oklahoma.</p> <p>Silas was a member of Myrtlewood Baptist Church in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He loved nothing more than being able to spend time with his family; and going to his grandchildren&#39;s, and great grandchildren&#39;s sporting events. He loved golden oldies music, and always rooted for the Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners. Silas worked as an auto body repair technician, until he retired from Bill&#39;s Body Shop. He was a veteran of The United States Army and served in the Vietnam war where he was awarded The Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Air Medal, and National Defense Medal. Silas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.</p> <p>He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Allison McKinney; one son, Silas &quot;Sonny&quot; McKinney; two grandsons, Bradley McKinney and James McKinney; one sister, Suzanne Shomo; one brother, Cyrus McKinney, his grandmothers, Georgie Brandy and Mulsey McKinney.</p> <p>He is survived by his wife, Betty Shomo McKinney oh Broken Bow, Oklahoma; son, John McKinney of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; daughters, Joey McKinney of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and Lisa McKinney of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; brothers, Gwen and wife, Ruth McKinney, of Paris, Texas, Gary Johnson of Idabel, Oklahoma; his sister, Gay and her husband, Stan Shomo of Durant, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.</p> <p>Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with Brother Stanley Shomo officiating. Interment will follow at the Myrtlewood Baptist Church Cemetery in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Wake service will be Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 2-4 P.M. at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.</p> <p>Pallbearers will be Casey McKinney, Kyle McKinney, Cory McKinney, Jamelle Walker, Tyler McKinney and Cole McKinney.
