George Thomas Duffy Obituary

George Thomas Duffy (79) was born on December 3rd, 1942, to Lawrence Robert Duffy and Miriam O’Hare Duffy in Teaneck, New Jersey. He died at his home in Titusville, Fl. on his birthday in 2021 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Mr. Duffy was predeceased by his brother Christopher Mark Duffy (Yoshia) and is survived by his wife, Laura M. Ward Duffy and by his brothers L. Robert Duffy (Ginny), Terrance Joseph Duffy (Tara), by his sister Mary Therese Duffy Wittner (Gary), and by his beloved niece, nephews, and cousins.

George attended Mt. Carmel Elementary School in Ridgewood, N.J. and St. Luke’s High in Hohokus, N.J. where he excelled at basketball. After graduating from Seaton Hall University in South Orange he served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict.

When his military service was completed, George moved to Manhattan and worked on Wall Street for Merrill Lynch as a broker. It was there he met his future wife, Laura, on a blind date.

George has lived in Titusville since 1991. He enjoyed his membership in the Titusville Elks and he was a certified Guardian ad Litem working in the Brevard County Courts. He was a rated chess player, a deadeye on the gun range, an avid reader and a genuine Irish wit. He and his wife were enthusiastic ballroom dancers.

Besides being a wonderful husband George was a kind, gentle, gracious and elegant man, -- a unique individual.

He loved his God. He loved his Church. He loved his wife and he loved his big Irish family.

Requiescat in pace, George. Well done
