Mexico - Barry Wayne Perkins, 75, earned his well deserved wings, at his home, on December 3,2021. Barry was born at the Rumford Hospital on Jan. 4, 1946 to Russell and Beverly (Ellis) Perkins. He grew up in Dixfield and attended Dirigo High School.

Barry took great pride in being a good worker and had many special skills he had acquired over the years. His favorite job was packing medical viles at the Nezinscott Guild formerly of Turner. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing at dances and family functions until his health started failing. He enjoyed his trips to Nashville and baseball games. He was Johnny Cash's biggest fan. Barry had a great sense of humor and a great gift of telling funny and outrageous stories to whomever would listen. He made sure everyone knew when his birthday was and how old he would be.
Barry had many loving and caring providers during his life including Miss Gladys, Gertrude Moody, Betty Plumley, the staff at day Program at the Progress Center and staff at Hope Association and last but certainly not least the amazing staff past and current of the Fourth Street Home in Mexico, Maine.
The family wishes to thank his past case managers Pam Blake, Candi Goodwin and Maura Broberg and the staff of Beacon Hospice.


Surviors include his brother and sister-in-law Rick and Kathy Perkins of Livermore, Sisters Judy Muse of Florida and Gail and brother-in-law Lee Zachte of Washington state. He was an uncle to 7 nieces and 5 nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Janice Perkins.

Arrangements are cared for by Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Rd. Jay. Interment will be held in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery in Dixfield. A kind word may be left in his Book of Memories at www.wilesrc.com
