<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Michael Edward McAdams, age 76, of Norman, passed away December 1, 2021.&nbsp; He was born May 14, 1945, in Oklahoma City, OK, to the late James Edward McAdams and Ruby Leah Heiner McAdams.&nbsp;<br /> Mike was raised in Oklahoma and graduated in 1963 from John Marshall High School (Duncan, Oklahoma). He was a two-time Oklahoma High School State Champion under legendary coach Virgil Milliron. He went on to attend both the University of Oklahoma and Brigham Young University on Wrestling Scholarships where he became an NCAA &nbsp;All American collegiate wrestler placing 3rd in the nation. He was also awarded the honor of Most Competitive Athlete in 1968.&nbsp;<br /> Mike served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the England, British South Mission from June of 1964 to June of 1966.<br /> Mike met and married the love of his life, Sylvia Jean Dawson, from Richardson, Texas on January 23, 1967. They were married in Dallas and later sealed for time and all eternity in Salt Lake City LDS Temple.<br /> Mike received his Bachelor degree from Brigham Young University and a Master&#39;s degree in education from the University of Oklahoma. He worked many years in the oil and gas industry and taught at-risk children in the Norman Oklahoma public schools toward the end of his career.<br /> Mike also served several years in various voluntary capacities with the Boy Scouts of America including Cub Scoutmaster and Boy Scoutmaster. His leadership in these roles had a significant impact in the lives of many&nbsp;young men in&nbsp;the Norman&nbsp;Oklahoma area as he helped many of his scouts to achieve the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout,&nbsp;including all four of his sons.<br /> &nbsp;</p> <p>He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Jean McAdams; four sons, Brian McAdams and his wife Christina of Utah, Aaron McAdams of Texas, Sam McAdams and his wife Ella of Arizona, and Kyle McAdams and his husband Brian of Illinois; ten grandchildren, Whitney May and her husband Andrew, Carissa Russell and her husband Blake, Bryson McAdams and his wife Mattie, Isaac, Emarie, Olivia, Shaylee and Ruby McAdams, Georgi and Hannah Wilson; one great granddaughter, Peyton Russell; one sister, Robbie Vaclaw and her husband Michael; one brother, Russ McAdams and his wife Cindy; one brother-in-law, Harold Dawson and his wife Judy; and many nieces and nephews.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Humanitarian Aid Fund at&nbsp;<a href="https://donate.churchofjesuschrist.org">https://donate.churchofjesuschrist.org</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Zoom link for the Funeral Service on Friday, December 10, 2021, at&nbsp;11:00 am CST:&nbsp;<a href="https://zoom.us/j/92301492335">https://zoom.us/j/92301492335</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Michael Edward McAdams, age 76, of Norman, passed away December 1, 2021.  He was born May 14, 1945, in Oklahoma City, OK, to the late James Edward McAdams and Ruby Leah Heiner McAdams.
