Richard “Goob” Charles Amos Jr., 66, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Richard was born in Walnut Ridge to Richard Charles Amos Sr. and Betty Sue Wells Amos on Monday, May 23, 1955. Richard “Goob” is preceded in death by his parents Richard Charles Amos Sr. and Betty Sue Wells Amos. Richard “Goob” is survived by his wife Theresa Amos of Pocahontas; sons, Jeffery Shane of Prairie Grove and Rusty (Jessica) Amos of Pocahontas; daughter, Emma Amos of Cabot; grandchildren, Xavier Salinas, Maverick Amos, Kylie Amos, Rilynn Amos, Peyton Amos, and Ava Amos; brothers, Tony (Sandy) Amos of Pocahontas and J.E. Brown of Walnut Ridge; sisters, Brenda Manning of Hoxie and Debbie (Harvey) Songer of Walcott; nieces, Bridgett Couch, Jennifer Andrews, Rachel Seawel, Amanda Burns, and Ladonna Smith. All services will be held in the chapel of Hope Gardens Funeral Home in Pocahontas. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm, with Ricky Layton, officiating. Richard “Goob” will be laid to rest at Chesser Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lane Couch, Luke Couch, Colton Couch, Josh Bradley, Rick Wise, and Rob Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Schraeder, Shane Smith, Rickey Massey, and Hunter Dail.
