Mary Grace Carder Murphy, 84 of Kearneysville, WV passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in the Reston Hospital Center. Born July 7, 1937 in Westfield, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Elden Carder and Rosa Grace Allman. She attended Heritage Free Will Baptist Church, was a seamstress for the Perfection Garment. Mary loved her cats and gardening, she was such a loving housewife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by two sons, John Murphy, Sr. and wife Amy of Summit Point and Scotty Murphy and wife Chrissy of Kearneysville, daughter, Pat Housden of Kearneysville, seven grandchildren, Denny, Andrew, Matt, Missy, John Jr. “JJ”, Sarah and Mikey and thirteen grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lawrence Thomas Murphy, Sr., son Lawrence “Tommy” Murphy, Jr.and brother, Bill Carder. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Jane Lew, WV with the Pastor Jimmy Williams officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 at the Jefferson Chapel. Family request wearing of mask at the viewing.
