Dorothy Seibold Spirit Lake, Iowa Dorothy Seibold, age 85, of Spirit Lake, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Keelson Harbour in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Her services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon, Iowa with Pastor Kevin Gingerich ~ officiating. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon, Iowa Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home – Sheldon. SEIBOLD Dorothy Eileen (Moore) Seibold was born May 20, 1936 to Dallas and Florence (Skjermo) Moore in Westby, North Dakota, where Dorothy spent her childhood. Shortly after graduating from high school while working as a waitress she met the love of her life Delmar Seibold. They were united in marriage on August 22, 1954. To this union two sons were born, Doug and Dean. Dorothy and Delmar moved multiple times throughout their lives due to Delmar’s work as manager at Montgomery Wards stores. They lived in Williston, Dickinson, Devil’s Lake, Bismarck, in North Dakota; Glendive and Wolf Point in Montana; Sheldon and Sioux City in Iowa; Tallahassee, Florida and the couple settled in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Delmar preceded her in death in Sioux Falls on February 13, 1995. She moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa to make her home and to be near her family. Dorothy was an outstanding seamstress sewing most of her clothes, curtains and bedding. Dorothy and Delmar enjoyed traveling to Arizona. She enjoyed country music and dancing and most important to her were her children and grandchildren and she cherished the time spent with them. Over the last few years Alzheimer’s disease had taken a toll on her life. She spent the last few years under the wonderful and compassionate care of the nurses and aides of St. Croix Hospice. She passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Keelson Harbour in Spirit Lake, Iowa reaching the age of 85 years, six months and twelve days. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Doug (Cindi) Seibold of Spencer, Iowa and Dean (Daleen) Seibold of Spirit Lake, Iowa; grandchildren, Brittney (Lucas) Gunderson, Trevor (Natalie) Seibold, Whitney (Paul) Hornby, Larry (Stephanie) Fay, Joshua (Sarah) Fay, Jamie (Jacob) Quinn also 12 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter-in-law, Vicky Seibold; her parents, two brothers, Glen and Dalton Moore and sisters, Hazel Moore and Frances (Moore) Rivers.
