Mark E. Verrilli Obituary

Mark E Verrilli Where does a person begin when speaking about Mark? As he would sarcastically tell me, from the beginning. He was born in New Rochelle, NY on April 8, 1954 by his parents, Anthony Verrilli and Jeanne Bailey Verrilli. Shortly after, to Mark’s protests, his sister Ellen Verrilli Stevens was born and his brother Ron Verrilli, where they all grew up in Rye, NY. When he met his wife Candida (Candy) it truly was love at first sight. They married in 1980 and wasted no time in growing the family. Derek was born in 1981, Mark (Nick) in 1985 and Ryan in 1987. They decided to move to Virginia in 1988 and made it home, although as they say, you can never take the New York out of a New Yorker. Mark, was a devoted fan of the NY Giants, NY Yankees and NY Rangers. He was also passionate about music, particularly rock & roll and enjoyed playing electric bass. He also had an insatiable appetite for reading, from philosophy to economics, mysteries to history. In NY, Mark was a commercial real estate agent, but in Virginia he tried his hand at writing children’s stories and received his certification as a paralegal, but he eventually found his calling in the world of landscaping. Mark dedicated 30 years as a landscaper and truly cared about his customers and the work he performed. He also enjoyed coaching lacrosse as a defensive coach at Stonewall Jackson HS in Manassas. Mark will be remembered and missed dearly by his family; his loving wife and best friend, Candy, his son, Mark “Nick”, his wife Marie, and grandchildren Aubrey, Kyndal & Logan; his son Ryan, his wife Maya and grandchild Rocco; his son Derek, granddaughter Haley and Derek’s fiancé Stephanie & son Andrew: his sister Ellen, her husband Dacy, and their children Michael & Sarah; his brother Ron, his wife Pam, and their children Brian and Marc. Mark will also be missed by the many friends and people whose lives he touched. Mark chose to be cremated with no service, however, the family will be holding A Celebration of Mark’s Life that will be held in April 2022. Please sign the guestbook at www.bakerpostfh.com
