Thelma Mae Henline Obituary

Thelma Mae Henline, 96, of Fostoria, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 2, 2021. She was born on November 14, 1925 in Sandusky County to the late Ray D. and Nellie (Driftmyer) Damschroder. She married Paul E. Henline on February 6, 1947 and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2002. Surviving are her daughters, Pamela (Richard) Van Mooy of North Baltimore and Susan Echelberry of Fostoria. She leaves behind grandchildren, Benjamin (Tiffany) Van Mooy, Audrey (Matt) Wartko, Jessica (Matt) Grove, Mark (Alison) Echelberry and Sam (Leslie) Echelberry; her great-grandchildren, Miranda and Milo Van Mooy, Ryan and Alex Grove, Luke and Emma Echelberry and Ethan, Andrew and Maddie Echelberry; brother, Ervin (Beth) Damschroder; sister-in-law, Sheila Damschroder; brother-in-laws, Evanlee Deininger and Luther Henline; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Rod Echelberry, sisters, Ruth McCoy and Elsie Deininger, brothers, Albert, Carl, Ward and Louis Damschroder, brother-in-laws Lloyd and Kenneth Henline and sister-in-laws Laurene Buck and Margaret Burseik. Thelma was a hard worker but mostly enjoyed being a homemaker. She especially liked entertaining, baking cookies, sewing and gardening. She took great pride in walking a mile every day. She was a longtime and active member of Hope Lutheran Church where she participated in Hope 60, the sewing group and other activities. Funeral service is 11 a.m. on Wednesday December 8, 2021 at Hope Lutheran Church with Rev. Robin Kapostasy, presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (10 a.m.-11 a.m.) at the church. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hope Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830.
